The Passion of the Christ is a recount of the story of a crucified messiah, one despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrow and familiar with suffering. He was despised and they (the Jews) took no account of him.
But he says "Whoever sees me, sees the one who sent me. I, the light have come into the world, so that whoever believes in me need not stay in the dark anymore."
He pleads for the sins of his crucifiers and asks that we love one another.
